Aside from the allergies sneaking up on me, spring has got to be my favorite season. It's a season of new life; of growth. It's a chance to restart. It seems like all the good things happen during spring. Here are some of the things I love about spring:
Macarons: I mean actually I eat macarons year-round, but the colors just remind me of spring. My favorite place in Nashville to get my hands on some of these is Provence Breads in Hillsboro Village. They're a bit pricey, but they're good! Over Christmas break, I went to a little place called Chantal Guillon Macarons & Tea in Palo Alto, and they had nearly every flavor imaginable. My favorite is pistachio.
Skirts: I find some of the best skirts at Goodwill. I'm always on the hunt for a good pleated skirt that I can pair with a cute top and a belt. They're comfy and classy, so what's not to like? Sometimes when I wear casual dresses, I don't feel super comfortable. But longer skirts that go past the knees are easy to wear. If I had enough skirts to wear every day, I'd wear them.
Baseball: If you know me, you know baseball is my sport. I've grown up a White Sox fan, and I love being able to go to games. Since moving, though, I'm not really able to go anymore. Thankfully I've been able to make it up the past couple of years to Opening Day, but I wish I could go more. Going to a baseball game on a cool night just sounds perfect to me.
Succulents: I don't exactly have a green thumb. I've killed more plants than I'd like to admit, but succulents were a whole new world to me. They retain a lot of water, so they don't need to be watered as often as most plants. They need a lot of sunlight, and they look pretty sitting lined up on a windowsill. I personally think they're far more pretty than flowers, too.
Those are my favorite things about spring. What are yours?
