Summer Changes

Well that was a change. I finally decided to go for the big chop: the pixie cut. And I couldn't be happier with it! I absolutely love how my hair turned out, but it was a very scary thing for me to do. I think in a lot of ways, this haircut was about more than just getting a new style; it represents a change. This summer has been a big summer for change so far. I have focused a lot on changing myself and on letting God completely transform my heart. The haircut, for me, symbolizes that in a way.

It was however, a pretty pricey change. The haircut, gratuity, and a styling product all cost nearly $50. But it was so worth it. After I got my hair cut, I went over to Target to find some hair clips and things to dress up my new look but I couldn't find any hair pins that I liked. I did find a really cute pair of earrings, though. Then I went to Claire's to get a few bows, a headband, and some more earrings. Definitely didn't need any of it, but I decided to spoil myself a bit, since my parents were gracious enough to pay for the big chop.

I was so worried about what this summer would bring, but I am pleased with how it's been going. I definitely don't work nearly as many hours as I did last summer at Chick-fil-a (I worked nearly 50 hours a week there!), but I am really enjoying my free time. I typically close at work, so I am able to sleep in and relax during the day. I am learning how to cook, as well as learning how to sew. My first sewing project is a little linen bag. I found the project in a book that I have called Zakka Style. The picture below is actually the first seam that I have ever sewn! I will post a picture of the finished product next week when it is complete.

Speaking of which, I realize that I have not posted on here in quite awhile. Sorry about that. I will be going back to posting once a week, so be looking for my posts on Mondays from now on.

I hope your summers are going well! Enjoy the break while you can :)
