A Few of My Favorite Things -Winter-

Round two! I began doing this when the first signs of autumn began to poke through the late summer. I'm a little late on this one, because Nashville had her first snow around Thanksgiving. With the business of finals, I let this blog slip by me. Sorry about that! I'm settling in for a much needed break and getting excited for some traveling that I'll be doing in the next few weeks. As winter rolls in, there are a few things that always grab my heart.

Lights: Do I even need to explain? I love driving past all the Christmas lights as I go through town and through my neighborhood. Since there isn't much snow here, it's always the first indicator for me that Christmas is just around the corner. Not to mention, a lot of people leave up their Christmas lights well into January, so I get to enjoy them even longer. And Gretchen Wilson keeps her Christmas lights up all year long so that's pretty great as well.

Scarves: My oh my, scarves are probably my favorite thing ever. No outfit is ever complete without a scarf when it's cold. Thick scarves are especially comfy on brisk mornings when I'm running 5 minutes late to my 8 am class. Plus they serve as a pillow if you just lean your head over. That function is always nice for the 8 am classes I'm running late to.

Snow: Seeing as though this is Nashville, I know I don't get to experience snowy days too often. But I do enjoy the snow when it falls. We had some snow about a week or so ago, and it was so so beautiful. I miss having blankets of snow the streets, and I actually miss having enough snow to shovel.

Warm drinks: These past few weeks, I have pretty much lived at my favorite little coffee shop downtown. Most of my money has gone towards my little coffee excursions, which have been just about every day. But I can't help it, warm drinks are just so wonderful and warming (imagine that) on cold days!

Well, those are my favorite winter things. What are yours?
